Found this spot on an early morning ride around Port Aransas. There are 10 little, brightly-colored bungalows at the Anchor Courts - the property is for sale and we would call it...hmmm.... a fixer-upper. If one was entertaining a dream of living on the beach, this could be a very retro-charming family compound. I call the pink bungalow for living and this turquoise one for my studio. This painting is going to the ARC of the Capital Area's 10th Annual Building Bridges Art Auction in October. I'm happy to be included in such a worthy cause - click here for more info.
Beautiful painting, Mitzi, and it would be a dream to live in Port Aransas. You did a great job on the palm trees!
ReplyDeleteOMG...love this retro-beachy painting. I get a really good feeling looking at this one. Love the colors, and the painterly look.
ReplyDeleteLove this painting! I like the color palette and the long ago look. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this painting in so many ways! Thank you for painting it. It makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteWe spent the last week in June on Mustang Island. Actually it was the week Hurricane Alex hit the Gulf Coast. Anyway it is so wonderful and I hope it brings a handsome donation. Good job!

Love this little nostalgic beach cottage, especially the shadows on the cottage; very well done! Oh, to have a fixer upper art studio, love that idea!
ReplyDeleteJust found your painting of Anchor Court today and absolutely love it! Anchor Court has a very sentimental place in my heart. I'm 47 yrs old. Growing up, my Granny and Aunt Billie would take us on fishing vacations to Port Aransas and we always stayed at Anchor Court. My Granny has been gone for several years, but Billie just passed away three weeks ago, so you can imagine how sweet it was to come across your painting. If this painting ever becomes available, I would love to purchase it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for bringing back some great memories!
