Blue Baltic

We cruised The Baltic a year ago and this was done from a photograph I took one day at sea. We are amazed to learn that The Baltic is not salt water. It is the largest brackish body of water in the world.

Fire in the Sky Blue Iris Painting by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Fire in the Sky Blue Iris is the newest work in Flower Mound Studio, as I finish up new inventory lists for paintings heading to the Texas Hill Country this weekend. The pugs are tickled pink their Aunt Bitsy is staying with them this weekend, since she finds ways to spoil them rotten that defy the imagination. Watching movies, sleeping late, snacks in the kitchen, there is no end to the delights that await them once Aunty is in charge, according to Howie, who says he would like to trade his mom for Aunty.

AnnieBee, of course, will be joining us for the trip, and leaving her brothers at home, out of the public eye where they belong. After all, she directs all gallery related activities. Annie doesn't actually select the paintings that will be packed and shipped, but she does occasionally roll her ball behind one of them (an occurrence that results in loud commands and insults if I fail to quickly retrieve the ball as she has trained me to do.) The trip is always more fun with Annie along. I'm sure she'll be rewarded for her toil with a new toy and cookie for the long ride home.

Starting a New Life by Kay Wyne

Starting a New Life is my first abstract aspen painting...I have some blue sky in this painting, so hopefully it qualifies for the September post. It also has just about every other color in the book. It is a 48" x 72" oil on gallery wrap canvas. Big. I had a great time painting this one, and started a Aspen Series...blue is my favorite color, so you see blue in just about every painting that I do. Thanks for viewing....Kay

SEPTEMBER CHALLENGE by Linda Popple

4x4 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord

"Blue, Blue, My World is Blue!" is September's challenge.  Blueberries came to mind.  And Blueberry Hill was playing while I painted.  I like to eat this beautiful little berry and they are so good for us!

Azure and Pink Larkspur and Hydrangeas is the newest painting in the studio, and likely would not have been possible if I hadn't learned some great tips on how to keep hydrangeas fresh. The gal at the supermarket who works in the flower department (yes, the one who gets a big grin on her face every time I enter the store), told me some very common sense ways to keep hydrangeas fresh. Visit my art blog to read these great tips and see the studio models for Azure and Pink.
