What a perfect Saturday. After getting Anniebelly and Howard's teeth all polished and cleaned at the Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue no-anesthesia dental event, we dropped off the puggies and went to the nursery! I had a plan - create a painting based on the Some Texas Artists Like to Paint Challenge this month. The topic - tools. My goal - find the perfect setup to paint a little gardening tool! So off we went. I love Flower Mound Calloways Nursery! Have I mentioned that before? The nursery was packed. You could see the gleem of excitement in all the Flower Moundians' beady little eyes! Plants - check! Knockout Roses - check! Tool for my painting - check! Pretty pots - double check! To see the setup that inspired Tool Time Geraniums, take a peek at my art blog.

  1. Stunning painting! And that itsy bitsy tool is a knock-out, too! :-)

  2. Gorgeous, and what a surprise that your "tool" painting is surrounded by fabulous flowers! Love the new planter.

  3. I love geraniums and your painted geraniums in particular! One of the things that I especially like here is the repetition of shapes of flower pots and even the garden trowel assumes the same shape; very, very nice. I like Calloways, too, but you need to come over on this side of the metroplex and meet me at Bruce Miller in Richardson and Northaven in North Dallas, wonderful varieties and selections for you to paint!

  6. That color of the geraniums against the background color is really impressive. Makes a great painting.
