(this Rooster needs a name!)
Oil on 12" x 12" canvasI just finished this painting, and haven't had time to give him a name...if you have any suggestions, please let me know. He is colorful and the paint is still very wet. There is alot of texture on the canvas...I used a palette knife and brush to apply the paint. Thanks for viewing this blog and the art. Wide brushstrokes, splashes of color, and thick paint are characteristics of this painting. This red rooster might be giving you the evil eye, he might be very angry, or he could be your everyday run of the mill rooster. There are layers and layers of color and texture on the canvas. This painting was sold by Pam Massur at The Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas. It made the SOLD section of the June issue of American Art Collector.
