"They've Caught Santa" by Ann Rogers

5 x 7
oil on panel

When looking through some on-line mugshots for this month's theme, I ran across this guy who seems to  be a dead ringer for Santa. It made me stop to think that I haven't seen the jolly ole man lately in any of the stores or malls. Hummm, does Santa have a crew cut?

"Back To School" by Ann Rogers

9 x 12
oil on stretched canvas

Our children will be headed back to school in a week or two so be sure to slow down for kids riding bikes and skateboards or walking to and from school. This was painted from a photo of my first granddaughter when she was just starting to ride her tricycle. She's starting to high school in another week, where has the time gone?

"Santa Fe Vendor" by Ann Rogers

8 x 10 oil

Painted this "portrait" from a photo that I snapped of a vendor at the open air market in Santa Fe near the train depot. Can't be in the Southwest without seeing some great looking hats.

"Patty Cake" by Ann Rogers

8 x 8
oil
sold

Saw this precious child while out shopping one day and her grandmother agreed to let me take her photo. The camera came out and she immediately started playing "patty cake". Think we could do a whole blog just on children.

Surfin' Rodeo by Mitzi Easley

Texas cowboys don't just ride horses. I spied these last summer on the Port Aransas beach and knew immediately I would love painting their gesture, reflections, and yes, those hats.

"Surfing"

8 x 10 by Ann Rogers
oil on stretched canvas

One last Summer post before we leave the month of July. There's "surfing" and then there's "surfing the internet"! This is from the beaches of Hilton Head.
