"Back To School" by Ann Rogers

9 x 12
oil on stretched canvas

Our children will be headed back to school in a week or two so be sure to slow down for kids riding bikes and skateboards or walking to and from school. This was painted from a photo of my first granddaughter when she was just starting to ride her tricycle. She's starting to high school in another week, where has the time gone?

05/21/11 Zoe by Carol Morgan

This is Zoe, the oldest little girl of one of my teacher friends. I had to dig into my past to pull this one up because I am consumed with school for at least the next week. Zoe was only my third painting and second one of a child. I think the world of this couple and love their children so I ended up painting them often. Zoe is ready for the first grade next year and loves school. She is a girly girl that loves to paint my toenails with "glow in the dark" nail polish when I stay with them so mom and dad can have an occasional night out! What fun!!

Bathing Beauty by Mitzi Easley

Bathing Beauty by Mitzi Easley
16x20, oil on panel
Our Texas beaches are just the best for people-watching. This precious little one's family spent the day set-up right next to ours last summer in Port Aransas. She was a busy little bee and thoroughly entertaining to watch. I knew the minute I saw her pink bathing suit reflected in surf that I'd paint her time and again. Happy May all!

"Patty Cake" by Ann Rogers

8 x 8
oil
sold

Saw this precious child while out shopping one day and her grandmother agreed to let me take her photo. The camera came out and she immediately started playing "patty cake". Think we could do a whole blog just on children.

When We Grow Up ... ? by Kirk Witmer

6x8" oil on archival panel
This little brother and sister seem to be standing here wondering ....
"When We Grow Up .... "
...will the beaches still be this clean? Will the water still be this clear? Will the sky still be this beautiful? Can you promise us that?

I loved watching this little family. I could almost hear them waking their mother and begging to play on the beach before breakfast.
