Surfin' Rodeo by Mitzi Easley

Texas cowboys don't just ride horses. I spied these last summer on the Port Aransas beach and knew immediately I would love painting their gesture, reflections, and yes, those hats.

Beautiful !
ReplyDeleteMitzi, love, love, love this! their posture, reflections, and of course those hats just make it. Did I say I love this???
ReplyDeletePerfect, Mitzi!! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis might be a favorite! Love the whole sheeeeebang down to the title! Just plain awesome colors, fleshtones and subject!
ReplyDeleteFantastic!
ReplyDeleteMitzi...great painting. It makes me smile...and love those cowboy hats any time, any place. The underpainting is great...color peeps through.
ReplyDeleteLove this painting for so many reasons, one reason is for 2 special little swipes of paint: love that highlight on the calf (cowboy with the shirt) and the light on his shoulder, 2 very sweet spots. Also, love the way we can feel and hear the movement of these 2 on the water's edge, very nice.
